A Mini Staycation!

I am sorry I have been a little absent lately!

We had an amazing mini staycation with my friend Mary and her fantastic boys! The only sad part was that we missed Sawyer the entire time!

One of our favorite activities was our visit to Quarry Park. A park with man made granite quarries that you can hike, swim, rock climb, fish & scuba dive.

It is serene…

Peaceful…

And loads of fun!

Finally yesterday our Sawyer returned with great big hugs and enthusiasm for the amazing trip he had.

I brought his best friend Noah to greet him for his welcome home, since Kya & Tom had a softball game. I am proud to say he was the first off the bus & ran up to me with a huge bear hug. Pretty awesome for a 13 year old to hug his Mom in public!

I do believe he grew in the past 12 days!

It may have been the multiple boxes of Canadian maple cookies he fell in love with while he was gone!

Nestled Display

The week is slipping away quickly! I have a full plate this week, looking forward to my friend and her son’s arriving Thursday evening! We have been friends since 10th grade and we are joyfully anticipating their arrival!

Last night was a gorgeous night for softball. My Chickadoodle pitched…

…played shortstop and catcher. The team really came together and it was fun to watch.

I have been working on my office/studio space. I have been stacking my display items haphazardly and was pretty unorganized. My space is starting to come together.

My crates nestle into the bottom of the larger crate, my vintage suitcases fit perfectly on the shelf and many of my display items have a perfect home!

Simply Dynamic

Today the summer activities begin in full force… It would be even more fun if it felt like summer. We must be close to about 30 days of clouds with one or two sightings of the sun!

Tours and Treasures

We got up bright and early to get Sawyer on his way for his boys choir tour up through Quebec & Montreal! They are going to have so much fun! For 12 days, I’ll be stalking the boys choir twitter feed for updates and at night reading their daily events via their blog.

It is incredible that the first week of school vacation has passed!

Bracelet Display: What, A Funnel?

I am starting to incorporate some of my Grandparents treasures into my home. I have a useful funky dress form in my bathroom that holds my personal necklaces perfectly, but I have been struggling with my bracelets. I have been wanting to use vintage bottles to place my bracers on, but my sweet jumping cat likes to jump up to the top of my cabinet and I afraid that he will knock them down.

The other day I started using this funnel. It works perfectly, I love the vintage and grungy look and if my cat sideswipes it, it will not break!

I wanted to share this necklace with you too. I love the color tones!
