Time seems to pass so quickly lately. After Thursdays late start due to more snow….
We are happily enjoying sunshine, melting snow and springlike weather.
I have been on a creative frenzy!
Creating and creating…
I have filled some wholesale orders and done a little destashing.
A lot of my time has been spend with my children racing (and I mean racing) back and forth to activities. My three children are in a total of 7 activities this spring. But truly, I would alway rather be busy than bored!
Enjoy your beautiful day!
This morning school is on!! The temp is fourteen below zero and it actually feels like 14 below! No windchill today!
Two out of three vehicles broke down over the past few days. I was pretty sure my truck was going to need a major repair, and am so grateful that it only needed plugs and a pump!!
Normally I would leave for Atlanta today or tomorrow, but clearly the sun and moon and stars did not align this time to make it possible. I am sending love, hope and inspiration to my friends who are headed to the show. Safe travels and much prosperity to you! I will see you all at the July show!
The sunset was dynamic last night. It brought hope for new direction and so many possibilities!
Here is a necklace that I custom made for a very special customer for her Mom. It was fun to use vintage elements to match her favorite color turquoise!
May your day be filled with so many possibilities!
I bet you thought I was frozen!!! I am sorry you haven’t heard from me for a few days!
We are on day two of frigid sub zero temps caused by a polar vortex. Our governor cancelled schools statewide, churches and some businesses have been closed yesterday. No school today for the second day!
With 46 degrees below zero windchill, it is a perfect day to stay bundled and cozy in our homes.
This weekend was Sawyer’s 8th grade rite of passage to have the baby for the weekend! Three nights of newborn crying, feeding and diapers. He started off multitasking.
Sharing Comments like “I am waaaay too young to have a baby!”
He also discovered that it is impossible to sleep and feed a baby at the same time. FYI, it is not a real baby, the baby is computerized to act like a real baby! Put school had 12 babies and every student in eighth grade gets to experience what it is like to care for a baby. We are so thankful to have Sawyer’s behind us!! Two down, one more to go!
Now that the holidays are over, I can start sharing some of the custom orders that were surprises.
This necklace I created with a family keepsake, her Grandma’s brooch. I love how it turned out, the brooch is the star and the supporting elements help the brooch shine!
I hope you are staying warm and cozy through the frigid temps!
There is a chill in the air. With temps of twenty below zero not including windchill, I predict many Minnesotans will be spending the holidays cozy in their homes.
I am grateful for you.
May your days be filled with blessings and happiness! Merry Christmas!
Ha! I was referring to my Love necklace!
I finally finished the LOVE necklace I was working on. I had to add a little sparkle!
This necklace is a little more delicate than many I create. It is available today for $59 plus shipping by emailing me at CherishDesigns@live.com. First come, first serve.
I also finished this necklace too. It has a large vintage rhinestone mounted on the necklace with some wire swirls. Makes me happy!
This necklace is also available today. The price is $69 plus shipping Email me at CherishDesigns@live.com. First come, first serve.
They would make a great pair!
Have a warm and cozy day! We are in the midst of a very snowy day! Hope yours is warm and cozy!
Happy Cyber Monday!!
I am excited to share that I am having a Cyber Monday sale in my Etsy shop.
Use coupon code CYBERMONDAY! The coupon is valid through December 6, 2013.
I hope you are enjoying shopping online today!
More custom orders complete! It is so much fun to create designs specifically for you. This bracelet started with a fun bright red vintage element… I wired it up and it is ready to ship.
Today we made 7 pans of caramel chex mix for Tom’s family Thanksgiving.
We are off to celebrate!
Hope your day brings you joy!
Wow! Today my baby is a teenager! No more Tweens in this household!
These are the ages that everyone has always warned me about! Just wait until they are 13, 14 and 15. Today is the day!
And I must say, each day has been better than the next! I love their ages… Even though I miss desperately their little cuddles and their open mouthed drooling kisses!
I love their humor and enjoy spending time with them! I would love to press pause right now!
Or even a few years ago!
Today is also my Dad’s 70th birthday! He is such a knowledgable man! He has been an entrepreneur since he was a teenager! Happy Birthday Dad!! Xoxo
I have been creating, but unfortunately nothing I can share with you today!
See all of this jewelry? I wish I could show you!
It was a lot if fun to make and I’ll share more with you soon! I am sorry, I am a terrible secret keeper!!
I hope you have an amazing day!
Wow, I am always truly amazed how few duplicate orders I get during my sale!
As of 10am this morning, I have not received a single duplicate request. It might be a little out there, but I have always felt that each one of a kind item I create is meant for a special person! It kind of seals it for me.
If you have not had a chance to order yet, no worries! I am still accepting orders through tonight.
Here are a few items waiting for someone special… Is it you?
This funky bracelet will fit all wrist sizes. The cuff is one of my favorites to work with because it will mold so well around your wrist.
Vintage dog tag necklace. This was a new, unused dog tag that I hammered and aged a little more… Added some funky swirls with the punch of color ant it’s ready to wear!
This necklace has gorgeous colors with subtle blends of metallic colors.
That is a peek of some of the jewels remaining. You can email questions to me at CherishDesigns@live.com.
Thanks so much! Xoxo
Super excited! Today is my Private Virtual Sale at 6pm central time. I am doing the best I can to add items… I developed a fun case of vertigo yesterday and so I am moving a little slow!
A few of you have mentioned that you may not be able to access the email until later tonight. I want to assure you that if there is something you would like, I will do my best to create you a similar style necklace.
Past sales have totally surprised me that I generally don’t have people requesting duplicates until a couple of hours in! Hopefully that will stay true for today’s sale!
Here are a few sneak peek of jewelry that will be available tonight!
The funky yellow necklace has never even been photographed until today!
This necklace is perfect with jeans or fun to dress up your holiday party wear!
I adore this fantastic vintage button necklace!
I have some of the message necklaces available in the sale!
If you would like to join the sale, email me at CherishDesigns@live.com.
As I was browsing through my containers of beads yesterday… Searching for one specific very elusive element… I happened upon one of my very first wire and vintage creations.
So I guess it is Throwback Thursday today and I am going to share my very, VERY rough design. I am self taught, in fact I have never taken a wireworking class so at this point, I had no idea what a gauge was and I played with any wire I discovered.
I giggled in amazement what I was trying to accomplish with a high gauge wire!
I have learned so much over the years!
It is fun to realize the progress made over the course of my six years or more of wireworking!
I am preparing to have another Private Virtual Sale… This one is going to be a little different. I am not going to have as many items for sale… So you will have to be quick on the fly for responding. If you are signed up, no worries! I still have you listed! If you would like to sign up, you can email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. The sale will be Monday, November 4th. More info coming soon!
I hope you have an amazing day!
I love fall and this creation reminds me of the beautiful fall creations surrounding is.
The leaves have turned and the oranges, greens and gold are so joyful.
May you have a colorful and beautiful day!
It’s a rainy weekend… We are dashing between the raindrops as we are running around.
The Boys Choir performed last night and it was a joy to watch! I posted a snippet of a video on Instagram here. It is hard to believe this is his last year.
I have more orders to ship so I better get busy! Hope you get to stay cozy!
One of my favorite seasons is fall. It is hard to imagine life without the change of seasons, the absolute beauty of nature and the brilliant colors that surround us.
We are in the midst of fall colors in Minnesota. I am certain it’s natures gift to make us all happy before hitting us with brutal temperatures.
Sometimes I wonder about my design… Color offer such a thrill to me visually in life yet I wear black and design in mostly neutrals. In fact I really do have to push myself to use color in my work. Kind of funny, yes? Well if you figure me out… Let me know!
Yesterday Kya had another volleyball game… They played well. She had quite a serving spree. 31 points scored, no misses! Her team played well together, it was fun to watch.
Today is day three of tech week for Sawyer. There are still tickets available for the Boys on Broadway performances this weekend. It is one of my favorite performances of the year and Sawyer’s last year in St. John’s Bots Choir!
Well I am off to keep on plugging away! Have a FUNtastic day!
I was playing with an old wrought iron fence topper yesterday.
Super happy with how it turned out!
I have orders to fill, so I am off and running!
You can now follow me on Instagram @krislanae.
Have a happy day!
The whirlwind begins…
I have accomplished so much in a short time today and I am almost off and running!
Hope you have a great Monday!
I have really been enjoying creating with the vintage measuring elements I discovered a few weeks ago.
They really make me happy!
Love the contrast with the mini vintage keys I found the other day at an antique store.
Spending the day at a volleyball tourney today. Perfect rainy day for volleyball.
Have a happy day!
Oh, there is a chill in the air. We had quite a bit of rainfall last night and today and it is feeling like fall.
Today I have resorted to boots. Bye, bye flip flops.
The leaves have started to show their beautiful colors. This design was inspired by fall. The vintage copper leaf has a gorgeous patina.
I hope you are enjoying the beautiful fall colors!
Have a great day!
Ahhhhh… While my trip was life changing, inspirational and amazing, it is so good to be back home with my family.
Someday I hope to share the sugar sand beaches, gorgeous sunsets and tropical feel of Destin with my family. One of my favorite beaches ever!
It was a long day of flying and passing time in airports on Sunday. As I landed at MSP, I took my roller bag down from the overhead and instantly knew I held it wrong. My drive home was the longest drive ever, I had a full blown cold, hurt back and the exhaustion was setting in. The positive is that I am positive my back pain kept me awake so I could arrive safely at 12:30 am.
After a few days recuperating and visits with our friend Jeff, a chiropractor, I am feeling about 90 percent better! Whew!
The good news is that it forced me to catch up on my sleep!
I am missing my morning walks on the beach with the waves crashing and the birds singing. I am missing the inspirational women I shared the retreat with. So grateful for the experience.
We had some creative time at ABJ too.
This is my art quilt, I did not finish it because I felt it would be easier to travel with it in smaller sections. Adding that to my todo list.
Now that I am feeling better, I have piles of catching up to do. I am feeling quite behind. So I better get to it.
Have an amazing day!
Yesterday was a rainy and stormy day… It was a day of creating, brainstorming and networking. We learned so much about art licensing, from the presenters and each other.
The atmosphere was perfect, the instructors were incredibly generous with their time and content.
The evening before, the moon was shining so brightly there were shadows. The waves were crashing consistently and peacefully.
We all got temporary artist tattoos celebrating a special trait found in each of us. Mine was warmth… I love my friend Lori Siebert’s flower matching my style!
More tomorrow! My flight is boarding! Looking forward to hugs from my family.
