First of all, thank you to all of the bead soup hoppers… You guys are amazing. I have been trying to visit each of you that have been so generous with your comments… I have to say, sometimes it is challenging trying to find you through your links left in my comments. I am still trying to hop… After a weekend away, I came home to no internet and had been feeling under the weather…
I have been pushing through creating for my upcoming show next weekend. I hope you will visit me at the Olde Depot Junktion in Brainerd, MN. It is going to be fantastic.
I have been working on some bracelets…
Funky, grungy… Very vintage and very upcycled.
And a few delicately vintage…
Check out my blog from last years show here: https://cherishdesigns.wordpress.com/2013/05/27/the-olde-depot-junktion-wrapped-up/
It should be a fantastic show… Hope you can join us!
It feels like this weekend is going to whiz past before it starts… The events on our calendar are a tad ominous… Thankfully it starts with an early out today. Here goes: Golf Qualifier, hockey, boys choir, hockey, hockey fundraiser, more hockey, boys choir mass, volleyball, hockey, lacrosse. Sleep? Maybe!
It should be a very fun weekend and before we know it we will be back to Monday!
Last night was the first softball game of the season. Ky totally shocked me because she got a 3 run homerun on her first hit of the season.
Ha! She caught me off guard!
I made quite a few faith related necklaces for some wholesale orders…
I hope you have a relaxing weekend!
Time seems to pass so quickly lately. After Thursdays late start due to more snow….
We are happily enjoying sunshine, melting snow and springlike weather.
I have been on a creative frenzy!
Creating and creating…
I have filled some wholesale orders and done a little destashing.
A lot of my time has been spend with my children racing (and I mean racing) back and forth to activities. My three children are in a total of 7 activities this spring. But truly, I would alway rather be busy than bored!
Enjoy your beautiful day!
My bead soup partner Lea Avroch received and revealed the soup ingredients I sent her so I can share it with you.
I struggle with decision making so it is hard for me to edit sometimes. I
Have to admit that I was nervous too because she is a fabulous glass artist and I didn’t want to disappoint. I had everything spread out and just couldn’t decide on what to send her, so I sent it all! Lol. I am hoping I didn’t overwhelm her, but I shared my inability to edit and told her that I didn’t expect her to use it all!
As a wireworker, my wire of choice is steel… In consideration of her metal allergies I choose to work with copper for Lea’s soup. I created the focal and the clasp with some of the soup I sent her. I am also a chain junkie, but wasn’t certain of the purity of the copper chain I had, so I selected ribbon rather than chain.
I also created a double sided believe pendant for her, you can see the back side in the photo above. I hammered the clasp and patina’d the elements. I am excited to see her creations.
Yesterday I had the honor of delivering a custom key necklace for a special client with her precious Grandma’s keys. I had so much fun creating this necklace, adding the perfect amount of bling with hardware.
I see her wearing it layered with a white tee and jeans or dressier in a cute sweater dress!
I have a bunch of work to complete today so I better get busy. Have a great day!
Gosh the days are breezing by quickly…
We had some fun family time celebrating the most recent snow day Friday…
Keegan left for snowmobiling in Yellowstone with his Grandpa and cousin. He is currently 814 miles away from me… I know he is having a trip of a lifetime snowmobiling in Montana. My traditional goodbye since my kids were little was to kiss them goodnight and good morning for every day I would be gone. It used to help them to know how many mornings and nights I would be gone and as a Mom, I always wanted to get my daily kisses in.
As we left the house (I was considerate and attempted the tradition in the privacy of our home!) I started kissing his cheek goodnight-good morning. I only made it two and a half days when I started getting the Mooom resistance! I expected this from my almost 16 year old… The wrestling match ensued. I can still take him! At least I think I can, but amid laughter and a good tumble, I backed off. At least he know I tried.
District Hockey playoffs are finished. Yesterday morning the girls lost 2-3 in the Championship game to take second seed to Regional playoffs. The girls were disappointed but they played so hard this year. Sometimes loosing prepares you for your next game and we are hoping this loss makes them stronger when they take the ice Friday for Regionals.
I have created quite a bit this past week.
A super sweet and special client wanted some colored crystals for layering and so I made quite a selection for her.
They turned into some kind of cool color combinations.
She got up early and met me at the hockey arena to select her favorites.
I have quite a lot of work to do in four short days this week. Just for fun I am throwing in a quick Private Virtual Sale at noon central tomorrow. You can sign up by emailing me at CherishDesigns@live.com. If you have previously added yourself, you are still on the list.
Thanks and have a great day!
The past week has been a flurry of activity…
Kya’s hockey team secured their spot to advance to Regions in three games last weekend. I think Kya had one of her best games ever with two goals and two assists in a 4-0 win. Pretty Sweet. They have one more game to determine District Playoff Champs and first or second seed on Sunday morning. Keeping our fingers and toes crossed!
Kya is also at the end of her History Day project, a doozy of a project and we will be celebrating when she turns it in. This project takes months and we are so grateful that it is our last one!!
I have been having fun “Instagraming it up” lately! I love it because it is pretty quick to post and it is very visual.
My account is KrisLanae, here is a photo of the True Love Infinity bracelet I posted today.
I had fun making this bracelet… It is a double wrap chain bracelet with a hand stamped key, wirework and a few other funky elements.
I posted it in my etsy shop here: ( https://www.etsy.com/listing/179945564/true-love-infinity-double-wrap-hand )
I hope your day is filled with joy!
One of the Christmas gifts I was so excited about giving this year was the succulent necklaces that I made for my family. There was a bit of a hiccup with shipping and me not receiving the proper quantity ordered and so my sweet sister finally received her necklace yesterday!
My Mom and sister have the most amazing green thumbs, however I can unintentionally kill just about anything green! I ordered the terrarium and plant from a wholesaler and put my spin on the chains and charms.
As long as I had to order another one, I ordered a few extra for my sister to sell exclusively at her flower shop for Valentines Day! I delivered them yesterday. If you are local, make sure to visit her and order your flowers from her at Bloom Coffee and Floral. Here is her Facebook link: (https://m.facebook.com/profile.php?id=90547871897) You can reach her at 320-243-ROSE.
Happy Friday! Enjoy your weekend!
A few necklaces I created lately…
I got some new heart charms to stamp numbers or letters for our hockey fundraiser necklace. I stamped a few sample numbers and decided to create a necklace with initials using the same charms.
I stamped K, S, K for Keegan, Sawyer & Kya. I love how it turned out. Happy Valentines Day to Me!
I also created a Rocori Proud necklace for Sawyers Diving Coach.
My time has been filled with hockey preparation for Kya’s home tournament this weekend. I guess I better get a move on!
Have a terrific day!
I have an order going out for some Valentine jewelry and I had so much fun creating I made a few too many.
I quickly posted them on my Facebook page to give my followers first opportunity before I sent them out at noon.
Here are a few pics.
I have a little more than an hour before they walk out the door, so I thought I would share them with you too.
I love “Love”! It’s such a big part of my life and that is why Valentines day is one of my favorite holidays.
My heart is full and I hope yours is too!!
More pics only Facebook page!
Hope you have a dynamic day!!
Today we are snuggled and cozy warm as school is cancelled again due to low temps and blizzard conditions.
I posted on Instagram yesterday a few photos of our travels… This one has so much beauty, especially for a passenger snuggled in a blanket with a fresh cup of coffee. We were on our way to hockey, and this is Minnesota and hockey families are pretty fierce… It is up to the traveling team to determine road conditions and they were willing to travel an hour and a half in the blistering conditions.
It was a fun game and we got to follow a snow plow part of the way home. I am grateful for their diligence and care during extreme conditions. Even they were pulled off the roads last night as many surrounding roads were closed.
It is so nice to be able to sit snugly wrapped in a blanket. I am on day 8 of round 2 of vertigo. Saturday I even stayed home because I just felt too rotten to watch Kya’s volleyball tourney. (And you know it’s bad if I miss one of my kids events!) Hoping this round does not last a month… I am behind on my self imposed deadlines! I have so much to create!
Here is a necklace I created the other day… My Perfect Valentine Necklace.
I wish you all warm and snuggly moments! Have a happy Monday!
It is such an honor to be asked to create a custom necklace for a loved one. I created a few necklaces for a special client to select from(I always worry that it might not be exactly what they were looking for, so I created a selection!) Gosh, wouldn’t you know she fell in love with two of them! She honors me so!
This one is still available… $72.
So grateful to my amazing customers!!
Have a delightful day!
This morning school is on!! The temp is fourteen below zero and it actually feels like 14 below! No windchill today!
Two out of three vehicles broke down over the past few days. I was pretty sure my truck was going to need a major repair, and am so grateful that it only needed plugs and a pump!!
Normally I would leave for Atlanta today or tomorrow, but clearly the sun and moon and stars did not align this time to make it possible. I am sending love, hope and inspiration to my friends who are headed to the show. Safe travels and much prosperity to you! I will see you all at the July show!
The sunset was dynamic last night. It brought hope for new direction and so many possibilities!
Here is a necklace that I custom made for a very special customer for her Mom. It was fun to use vintage elements to match her favorite color turquoise!
May your day be filled with so many possibilities!
I bet you thought I was frozen!!! I am sorry you haven’t heard from me for a few days!
We are on day two of frigid sub zero temps caused by a polar vortex. Our governor cancelled schools statewide, churches and some businesses have been closed yesterday. No school today for the second day!
With 46 degrees below zero windchill, it is a perfect day to stay bundled and cozy in our homes.
This weekend was Sawyer’s 8th grade rite of passage to have the baby for the weekend! Three nights of newborn crying, feeding and diapers. He started off multitasking.
Sharing Comments like “I am waaaay too young to have a baby!”
He also discovered that it is impossible to sleep and feed a baby at the same time. FYI, it is not a real baby, the baby is computerized to act like a real baby! Put school had 12 babies and every student in eighth grade gets to experience what it is like to care for a baby. We are so thankful to have Sawyer’s behind us!! Two down, one more to go!
Now that the holidays are over, I can start sharing some of the custom orders that were surprises.
This necklace I created with a family keepsake, her Grandma’s brooch. I love how it turned out, the brooch is the star and the supporting elements help the brooch shine!
I hope you are staying warm and cozy through the frigid temps!
The days have been slipping away so quickly, I have been hustling and bustling!
Thank you to all of my amazing holiday shoppers at my open house! I am so grateful!! And there were no family injuries this year! Whew, so thankful for that!
My friend Sheila provided amazing treats from Tastefully Simple and my kids are excited that we have stocked up on their fav’s!
Last night was Sawyer’s final Ceremony of Carols concert as he graduates from St. John’s Boys Choir this year. It was so beautiful!
They sing by candlelight for the first portion of the concert and it is truly beautiful.
He had two solos and I admit, it was a little bittersweet as we enjoy the last of each concert in his final year.
I have four more orders to complete by Christmas, an abundance of wrapping and details to care for. I better get myself moving this morning!
I hope you are enjoying your Holiday Hustle!!
We are in the middle of a deep freeze, we do live in Minnesota so you would think we would be prepared for it. The subzero temps have found us much earlier this year… Shivering as we hustle and bustle… To and fro… Preparing for the upcoming holidays.
Racing against time and frostbite… We snuggle in a dream…
Dream of warmer temps… Dream of the summer sun as it warms your heart and soul. Dreaming of sitting on my lawn creating happily as the birds serenade me.
Sweet Dream Necklace available today by emailing me at CherishDesigns@live.com. First come, first serve.
I hope you stay warm and cozy and dream happy dreams! 🙂 Kris
After a few days of snowfall, we rose to a bright, crisp wintry morn. The wind is gusting but the sunshine brings pure joy to the day.
The sun has a dynamic sun halo surrounding its beauty. The spectrum of colors are so amazing and not quite captured by my iPhone.
Despite the frigid temps and below zero windchill, the joy in your heart is noticeable.
This joy necklace is available for $69 by emailing me at CherishDesigns@live.com.
May you find joy, joy, joy down in your heart throughout your day today!
Ha! I was referring to my Love necklace!
I finally finished the LOVE necklace I was working on. I had to add a little sparkle!
This necklace is a little more delicate than many I create. It is available today for $59 plus shipping by emailing me at CherishDesigns@live.com. First come, first serve.
I also finished this necklace too. It has a large vintage rhinestone mounted on the necklace with some wire swirls. Makes me happy!
This necklace is also available today. The price is $69 plus shipping Email me at CherishDesigns@live.com. First come, first serve.
They would make a great pair!
Have a warm and cozy day! We are in the midst of a very snowy day! Hope yours is warm and cozy!
Happy Cyber Monday!!
I am excited to share that I am having a Cyber Monday sale in my Etsy shop.
Use coupon code CYBERMONDAY! The coupon is valid through December 6, 2013.
I hope you are enjoying shopping online today!
I made a bracelet similar to this last year and had another request for a personalized Mommy bracelet.
The names are hand stamped. The charms are bent to firm to the wrist and I measure out the links to create a double wrap bracelet. If you would like to custom order one, you can email me at CherishDesigns@live.com.
I still need to create one for myself! One of these days!
This morning I snuck out pretty early to shop for our feast. One of the things I have noticed that I still struggle with from my vertigo is that I seem to get nauseous from crowds. Not sure if it is the movement or people, but I am hoping it goes away soon. It has made me quite the homebody!
Well, I better get movin’, the list is long and the day is short!
Have an amazing day!
