How is your day? Today I am feeling brassy!
I have been playing with brass… It has a sassy look.
I found this key this summer and fell in love, love, love!
It pairs perfectly with the delicate brassy link chain I found.
And how about this pair for a perfectly layered duo?
Aren’t they cute together? Pure Brassy Happiness!
I hope you have a happy brassy day!
It has been time to build my inventory for the months ahead. I have been working hard trying to balance (a tad bit of a pun there because I am on day 8 with Vertigo, much improved now) family, house, creating and life. It is a constant battle to keep all of the balls in the air!
My key addiction has ramped up as I have been upcycling keys this weekend! I have three of them created and I listed them here in my Etsy shop.
I also created this necklace over the past few days and I listed it here in my shop.
I am excited by the new dimension to my work and have renewed energy… I could spend hours non stop, but you know, my children do need to be fed!
Today I am finishing up the video celebrating my parents 50 amazing years together! So excited about the week ahead!
I better get to it! Have an amazing Monday!
Pictured is a rust-a-licious key with a vintage filigree flower… Wired into a pendant that can be worn long or doubled.
Only a few more days until school starts… We had open house last night. It is crazy to think that I have 6th, 7th and 9th graders! It was a bit chaotic trying to focus on three children headed in three different directions!
Today we are heading out to get a few last minute school items.
I am hoping to fit some creating time in this weekend! Thankfully it is a low key weekend… We are going to have to enjoy low key knowing the chaos about to ensue that is school, hockey & boys choir!!
I hope you enjoy your long weekend! 🙂 Kris
A long, long, long time ago… I had the best job ever! I was a lifeguard. It was a joyful time for me because I got paid to be at the beach, teach swimming lessons and look cool twirling a whistle while sitting in the life guard chair. I basically got paid to tan.
I have so many great memories from that time… One of them is when this trio of sunshine came to visit… I really enjoyed when Shawn and her sweet sisters came to the beach. They loved to be at the beach and giggled, swam, played in the sand and asked me questions. I don’t recall them ever fighting, just enjoying their time at the beach.
I ran into Shawn about 9 years ago and she has not changed, she is still sweet, bubbly and friendly! Recently, she saw a pair of earrings I was wearing and said, “I have to have them!” then she asked me to design a necklace for her with a key and cute doo dad’s on it. I happily obliged.
A Cherish Designs Creation for Shawn
I created the pendant with wire, working it into a circle and I then wired each “doo dad” individually for Shawn… It has a little bling, a cute charm with a crystal (it totally reminded me of the sun at the beach and Shawn’s sunshiny attitude) some fabulous crystals, a vintage key replica and a large oval vintage piece of art. I finished it by adding a long chunky chain.
I am excited for Shawn, she is starting her own party planning business called Celebrations by Shawn. She doesn’t have a website yet, but if you would like her contact info, feel free to email me (email@example.com) and I will happily connect you! With her sunshiny attitude, I am certain that she is going to have amazing success!
I hope you have a sunshiny day!
