Brrrrr… Merry Ch.Ch.CHristmas

There is a chill in the air. With temps of twenty below zero not including windchill, I predict many Minnesotans will be spending the holidays cozy in their homes.

I am grateful for you.

May your days be filled with blessings and happiness! Merry Christmas!

Holiday Hustle

The days have been slipping away so quickly, I have been hustling and bustling!

Thank you to all of my amazing holiday shoppers at my open house! I am so grateful!! And there were no family injuries this year! Whew, so thankful for that!

20131221-072051.jpg

My friend Sheila provided amazing treats from Tastefully Simple and my kids are excited that we have stocked up on their fav’s!

20131221-072226.jpg

Last night was Sawyer’s final Ceremony of Carols concert as he graduates from St. John’s Boys Choir this year. It was so beautiful!

20131221-072426.jpg

They sing by candlelight for the first portion of the concert and it is truly beautiful.

20131221-072529.jpg

He had two solos and I admit, it was a little bittersweet as we enjoy the last of each concert in his final year.

I have four more orders to complete by Christmas, an abundance of wrapping and details to care for. I better get myself moving this morning!

I hope you are enjoying your Holiday Hustle!!

Much love,
Kris

Precious Traditions

We had a fantastic weekend. Friday night Sawyer had a swim meet and then Kya had a hockey game. Saturday I had a trunk show and Kya had another hockey game.

When I returned home, the boys surprised me with a Christmas Tree from our property. They picked it out and cut it down by themselves. So no photos captured but memories created for certain.

Keegan and Sawyer decorated it by themselves… It is the most endearing tree we have ever had.

It borders on being a Charlie Brown tree, but truly precious, especially because it was a surprise. And a bonus was that they cleaned up afterward!

20131216-094335.jpg

They believe it looks better at night, but I think it is pretty precious by day.

20131216-094435.jpg

Keegan is pretty proud of the new way he created to hang the lights (up and down rather than around!) and I LOVE that they don’t quite reach the top!

20131216-094617.jpg

We debated about getting a real tree this year because of our crazy schedules, and this might be my favorite tree ever! Next year we will continue our quest to touch the ceiling with our tree, but this year I am grateful for my precious children who love traditions.

Last night I had a cup of cocoa and enjoyed the brilliance!

20131216-094933.jpg

Yesterday my kids created their traditional ginger bread house…

20131216-095104.jpg

It didn’t last long!

20131216-095214.jpg

Someone ate the roof!!

20131216-095413.jpg

Thursday is my Holiday Open House. I hope you can join us! I created a few more delicate necklaces for the open house.

20131216-100416.jpg

May you and your family share many fun filled family traditions this year!

Pure Brassy Happiness!

20131125-103213.jpg

How is your day? Today I am feeling brassy!

I have been playing with brass… It has a sassy look.

20131126-081638.jpg

I found this key this summer and fell in love, love, love!

It pairs perfectly with the delicate brassy link chain I found.

And how about this pair for a perfectly layered duo?

20131126-081916.jpg

Aren’t they cute together? Pure Brassy Happiness!

I hope you have a happy brassy day!

A Mother’s Love: Personalized Bracelet

20121229-080535.jpg

Finally I have the pleasure of showing you one of my favorite Mother Gifts of the Holidays. I love it so much, I plan on making myself one!

I created this bracelet for a special Mother of four.

20121229-080853.jpg

I showed you a sneak peek here, before Christmas, but i didn’t want Mom to stumble upon the post! The word is that Mom loved it, which makes me so happy!

20121229-080950.jpg

This bracelet is a double wrap bracelet and features her four children’s names. I had to source extra long blanks because of the length of a couple of their adorable names. Attached to each name is a wired crystal representing their birthstone.

It was fun to make and fun to coordinate the delivery to Dad as a surprise to Mom too!

20121229-081342.jpg

I hope you are enjoying your holidays and precious moments with friends and family! ūüôā Kris

It’s All A Bit Of A Blur!!! and my 101st post!

Wow did the holidays fly by this year. Everything from the shopping to the wrapping to the actual holiday blurred by so quickly…

And some of my photos too… went by in a bit of a blur! Especially this photo of Keegan and I!

Quite blurry, but I think I look younger that way! Who knew blurring your photos and applying age techniques would subtract years from your age! I would have done that a long time ago had I know!

It was a joyful holiday, filled with fun family, terrific food and fun for all!

Some enjoyed snowmobiling in the abundance of snow. We enjoyed some great family times, shopping, watching movies and did I mention eating amazing food?

I even got some terrific play time with my new jewelry cutter I have been wanting. It is super heavy-duty and cuts wire like a breeze! My other cutter had only one spot where I could cut through wire, the other areas of the blade were ruined!!! I browsed in the holiday decor shops like never before… just taking it all in and imagining my line in a store in the future! I brainstormed on some gift items, too! I am looking forward to receiving the contract information soon.

And I promised to show you a picture of our tree, up in our home… Of course I took the photo after all of the presents were distributed. The kids decorated the tree one night while I was finishing Christmas Orders. It is our most precious tree ever. I love how high they got the lights before we ran out. I love how they could only get ornaments so far up… We never did get the tree topper or more ornaments on the top, but I must say, it is our most precious tree ever!

I am quite amazed at how far they did get the lights up on the tree! What amazing kids! (I know, I am biased…)

I am totally shocked that today’s post is number 101!! Wow, that went fast… I love blogging! And I love browsing blogs.

I hope you enjoyed the holidays and got to spend some “me” time in your own way, creating or reading or enjoying yourself!

Happy Holidays… have a fabulous day!

Kris

It’s Starting to Look a Lot Like Christmas…

We had a wonderful day yesterday, snowed in, snuggled up watching movies, baking cookies.

After the blizzard,¬†the¬†cold sets in and¬†today is a beautiful bright sunny day. A perfect day to get a Christmas Tree! Wait until you see what Tom & Kya brought home! Tom said Kya spotted it from across the tree farm (it’s no wonder!)

Watching them drive up was like watching a scene out of Christmas Vacation…¬†one of Tom’s favorite movies!

Wait until you see the front view!

Now that’s a big tree! I hope it fits in the door!

Happy hustle and bustle to you all!

Happy Frostiness (an update) & a little bit of black-n-bling

Yesterday was one of my F – A – V – O – R – I –¬†T – E¬†¬† days to wake up.

Here is a photo I snapped

                   yesterday morning as

                                  dawn was breaking.

                                                              It makes me so Happy!!!

The most incredible paint job on the trees that you could ever hope to see.

Oh I wish I would have stayed home, kept my kids home from school and snapped some photos. What an opportunity I missed! Next time I will not hesitate to capture the beauty!

AN UPDATE:¬†¬†¬†¬†¬† ¬†I am so excited… It is hard to fathom, I wonder if I am living a dream?¬† I am so thankful, blessed, excited, giddy, fluttery, flipping out and down right jumping out of my skin…

I am hoping I got all of the details right…

Tomorrow I am hand delivering the jewelry samples to the studio in Minneapolis. They will be hand carrying them to the corporate headquarters for a final presentation of the style boards to the executives of the company on December 16th.  They will presenting the full line with other artists included and it is at that time the final approval will be given where they sign off on all of the concepts.

The Holiday line for me currently includes a line of jewelry, ornaments and gifts, but I am told to be prepared for change because often throughout the creative process to manufacturing, the product line will change as it develops. Since I familiar with manufacturing and research and development, I am prepared for the change.

I will get a call or email after the meeting to find out the response from the executives and to find out that we have been given final approval! After that I will be contacted by the company to negotiate the contract. We will then be meeting for brainstorming sessions where we will come up with¬†more ideas for ornaments, gifts and jewelry. They will source products and manufacturers to provide samples and determine prices of the line. I am told it is a long process (it’s okay, I can be patient!). It sounds like the product line will be released in January 2012 at the wholesale gift shows where gift and retail stores place their holiday orders. At that time manufacturing begins and shipment of product is during the summer for the 2012 Holidays. Isn’t the process amazing and intriguing.

So one more step to get through, she said she doubts that there will be any changes after December 16th’s¬†meeting, so that will be a huge relief and we can breathe deeply!¬† Yahoooooiiiiiieeeeee!

I really needed to create something from scratch, so¬†I took a quick break from filling my orders and created this piece…

I couldn’t decide which was my favorite photo…

So I used all three of them.

I have orders to fill with for the holidays. I love making people happy. I really enjoyed working with these two photos. I am delivering the finished product tomorrow. I will have share finished product photos. But aren’t the cowboys cute?

I hope you are enjoying the hustle and bustle… I think I should probably get started with holiday shopping!

Enjoy the rest of your week! Kris

A Sneak Peek… crossing my fingers and toes

This is the week I have been waiting for since September. I am nervous, excited and filled with¬†anticipation and a little dread.¬† My fingers and toes are crossed. I am sitting on pins and needles.¬† I am so honored by the request and giddy by the potential. If Christmas comes early, you will hear me screaming from the mountaintops (& we don’t even have mountains!) I will post right away and share the news with you. I should know by Friday.

I am going to show you a sneak peek of my submissions by request…

¬†Sorry they are close-ups…¬†

I know, you can’t see really what they are.

I am sorry about that.

Truly I am.

You will understand soon enough.

Sorry to tease you, I just can’t stop thinking about it!

I had to write about it.

 This could be big.

Really Big…

But it could be just an extremely honorable moment in my life… Either way, I can’t wait to tell you about it!

Is it intriguing to you?

I hope you like peeks…

The next one looks kind of vicious!

It kind of¬† looks like a claw… but it’s not, I promise!

I can show you a picture of my little chickie helper this weekend at the Firefleyes Holiday Marketplace.

(she’s a tad blurry! sorry ’bout that!)

She really liked the hat, but she chose an adorable headband instead.

She had an offer to buy the necklace that I made for her that she is wearing.

She debated most of the day.

It was a bit painful for her.

In the end, she just couldn’t let it go.

I am proud that she thought about the decision so carefully!

And here she is getting ready for hockey… Pretty tough lookin’ chicklet. They won their first game too! 10-0, it was so exciting. I couldn’t help but feel sorry for the sweet little goalie, she was shorter than the net, but she sure handled it well!

Her friend Carlie brought the tough girl face paint. So cute!

I am getting ready to deliver my inventory to the ‘Tis the Season Upscale Boutique in Chaska… The sale is a two weekend sale, I am only working¬†the boutique¬†on Sunday of the final date. Such a fun concept! We have a hockey tournament this weekend and more running the following weekend, so it is great to participate in a boutique that you don’t have to be there for the whole two weekends! Hope you can stop and shop!

Have a great week. I hope it goes quickly! Can’t wait to fill you in and to know what the future holds! ūüôā Kris

A Spoonful of Sugar…

I am not sure why this song popped into my head today… But it is S-T-U-C-K!

It is not a medicine spoon, it is a Birth Record Spoon… It is sooooooo coool, the patina is amazing.

I would love to have one for each of my three children… This one is for Jesse. I can’t read the details. Generally I will bend a spoon, add wire and crystals to add to a necklace, but this one needed to be left as is… Such a great look. ($69)

But for some reason it triggers this song from Mary Poppins:

Mary Poppins:
[Spoken]
In ev’ry job that must be done
There is an element of fun
You find the fun and snap!
The job’s a game

[Sung]
And ev’ry task you undertake
Becomes a piece of cake
A lark! A spree! It’s very clear to see that

A Spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down
The medicine go down-wown
The medicine go down
Just a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down
In a most delightful way

A robin feathering his nest
Has very little time to rest
While gathering his bits of twine and twig
Though quite intent in his pursuit
He has a merry tune to toot
He knows a song will move the job along – for

A Spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down
The medicine go down-wown
The medicine go down
Just a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down
In a most delightful way

[Interlude]

The honey bee that fetch the nectar
From the flowers to the comb
Never tire of ever buzzing to and fro
Because they take a little nip
From ev’ry flower that they sip
And hence (And hence),
They find (They find)
Their task is not a grind.

Ah-h-h-h-h-h-h-h-h-h-h ah!

A Spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down
The medicine go down-wown
The medicine go down
Just a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down
In a most delightful way

I especially love the down-wown! So much fun to say… down-wown!

I forgot to share Kya’s pumpkin, she took a pic of it for me to share.

I am ALL FOR a Happy – non-scary pumpkin!

Have a delightful day, try a spoonful of sugar and repeat after me (three times fast)… down-wown, down-wown, down-wown!
