So Thankful!

Today is our day of thanks!

We have so much to be thankful for! Health and family tops the list. Today I and grateful that my Mom is happy and warm and cancer free… Celebrating with friends in Havasu! I am thankful for my Dad’s health and hoping the Parkinson’s progression is slow, slow, slow.

I am grateful for my family… Three happy, healthy and amazing children… I enjoy continuing to discover their beautiful qualities… Thankful that we had a day of bonding yesterday… Almost no bickering and bonding over cleaning was a true gift!

Window washing, aka Tall Ladder Acrobatics was the photo opp. Only two like to be featured but I did get pics of the third! I am just forbidden from publishing them. I honor his privacy!

I am thankful for the help of my hubby… He is ever selfless and giving. He will climb to the top of the tallest ladder for me. (Smirk!)

We look forward to gathering and having a non traditional thanksgiving dinner today with my Dad, talented sister and family (with exception of my sweet niece Bailey, who returns from a six month mission trip in a few weeks! Miss you Beautiful Bailey!)

Saturday we will celebrate a fantastic traditional Thanksgiving with Tom’s family.

May you fly and celebrate with family and friends on this happy day! Much love to you and I appreciate all of you!

Xoxo, Kris

It’s a Happy Day!

Oh it’s a happy day! For the first time in weeks, I feel good!

Quite honestly, I have had one health affliction after another… Nothing major, just annoying coughs and sniffles and hips popping out. My last fun affliction must have been food poisoning as I am the only one in our family affected (Thank Goodness!).

This past weekend was Kya’s birthday party. The girls love taking photos of themselves so we had it at Everyday People Studio… A self serve studio.

We had so much fun taking photos of them!

In two and a half hours we got almost 1200 photos! We had great help from the staff!

Took a super cute individual photo for all of the girls…

They were jumping, posing and having a blast!

I wish we had started this idea in kindergarten!

The girls weren’t thrilled about the foot photo, but it might be one of my fav’s!

It seems like forever since I have had some good creating time, hope to rectify that soon!

I hope you are having a happy Monday!
🙂 Kris

Measure Me Happy

I have really been enjoying creating with the vintage measuring elements I discovered a few weeks ago.

They really make me happy!

Love the contrast with the mini vintage keys I found the other day at an antique store.

Spending the day at a volleyball tourney today. Perfect rainy day for volleyball.

Have a happy day!

Feeling Thankful…

Today I am finally working on my name badge for the retreat I am attending next week. I am super excited about this retreat, but I have been drawing a blank on creating a unique and fun name badge that represents me.

Here are a few of the supplies I am playing around with. I’ll show you the finished product next week!

Keegan is doing so well with his stitches an I am excited to say that he bit the bullet on the pain and didn’t even have to miss any school!

Our weekend promises to be especially frantic with volleyball, hockey, boys choir and a hockey fundraiser. Fun stuff!

Today the sun was shining and we had a beautiful fall day. I was able to work outside in the sunshine… Feeling thankful for the warm temps!

May you have a happy and joyful weekend!

Wow, that was four days of being unplugged… Unplanned!

I am not sure how it happened, but I could not get internet or my data to work the entire weekend. So no blogging… Facebook… Just unplugged!

I hope you had a Happy 4th weekend! We had an amazing family weekend!

It started with a celebration Wednesday night to celebrate my niece going on a 6 month mission trip & a few birthdays!

Happy Birthday Bailey! I hope you have the most incredible birthday in Hawaii!!

We had so much fun at my Mom and Dad’s! The kids rode UTV…

This is Kya… Little speedster!

Patiently waiting…

Lovin’ Gram & Gramps…

My Mom got the coolest lanterns that you can light and they float off into the beautiful night!

We had a little bit of technical difficulty with the wind as it launched into the tree…

It was a fun thing to try and Mom gave us some to try on a calm night.

Gram let Sawyer light a firework and it was so beautiful.

I woke the next morning to sweet birthday signs & notes!

We packed for a fun long weekend at our friends cabin…

The weather was amazing! Hot, sunny, humid… True summer!

We had perfect weather to launch another lantern!

We enjoyed tubing down the river and had a fun experience at the Long Lake Theater. It is a super fun theater in an old church… The show was Odd Couple and it sure brought back a lot of memories!

They had the cutest biffy, as my Grandma would say! And I caught my friend Cindy checking it out!!

A glimpse of our friends gorgeous log cabin… So relaxing, rustic, comfy.

A view from the deck of their unique and beautiful covered bridge.

Keegan & Sawyer decided to swim one last time before leaving for home.

Nothing like some bridge jumping!

Look who I found swimming under the bridge!

Then it was time to hit the road and head back to reality!

Amazing times with fantastic family and friends!! Hope you were able to make some happy memories!!

Sunshiny Day & a New Bangle

I have been a little worker bee lately… And yes I have been creating in my PJ’s! Gosh, they are just so comfy!

I created this bangle yesterday. I think I like it. Still need to experiment a little.

Our current temp is 54 degrees!! Finally spring shows her sunshiny smile on us!!

I hope you have the sun streaming in your windows on this gorgeous day!

Heart. Full.

Today I have a full heart. I am so grateful for so many positives:

Keegan is making an incredible recovery, the last week has found me awestruck. He ditched the crutches and all pain meds by Tuesday, removed all of the stitches himself by Wednesday and yesterday went the full day without both boots. Seriously in awe of this kid. 🙂 Truly grateful for no surgeries in the horizon!

We are on our way to the last volleyball tourney of the season. It has been such a rewarding experience.

Looking forward to an incredible week. Hope you have a Heart Full too!

🙂 Kris

Hoppy Monday!

Happy Monday!!

If you are looking for my bead soup post, you can find it here.

Kya and Sawyer had a blast dying Easter eggs yesterday. Of course, Keegan refrained as he was stuck to the recliner with his feet elevated. He did enjoy the fruits of their labor though.

His pain has been manageable so he is doing great. I wish I could show you pics of him walking on crutches with his double air cast/cam boots. They have curved bottoms and not much for traction so it is a little nervewracking watching him walk. I have been forbidden to post any photos of him and he is so cute all set up in the recliner with his feet elevated.

I have been cooking, creating and enjoying my family this weekend.

Here is a necklace I created with a vintage European buckle… Love the buckle and felt that it would make a perfect element to wire some charms to.

I made it long so you can layer a few necklaces or double up the chain and wear it shorter.

Thanks to our snow days, our kids had school today, so Keegan and I are spending some quality time together.

I am back to finish hopping the bead soup blog party. It is so much fun to see the diverse and gorgeous work that everyone creates.

I hope you enjoy a beautiful Monday!

Sharing Joy

Sometimes I believe we need to create our own joy and I have to say it sure can be fun!

I found the coolest mica cuttings in Tucson and I was creating with some resin projects the other day and decided to play! This is the first one I made into a necklace and I am happy with the result.

I created about six inspirational message pendants with vintage book paper. I am a glitter girl, so I had to add a little sparkle. The only thing I would change would be to protect the ink a little better on the vintage paper. But overall, I am happy with the results.

Well, my spring fever has been put on the back burner with freezing rain causing a late start for school this morning. My kids slept the entire two hours, it amazed me! What a joyful start to the day!

I hope you are having a fun and joy filled day today!

Our very own Halloween cat.

And Sawyer’s pumpkin! 🙂 Did you want to see our empty candy bowl?

Must. Stop. Buying. Candy. Before. Halloween!

Happy Mother’s Day!

This morning I lay awake, with my family sleeping, reflecting on the past and the years that led to celebrating Mother’s Day. So many emotions surface.

Today I celebrate my Mom, who is surviving and living her life to the fullest… Four years since her cancer diagnosis and and incredibly courageous battle with cancer. I have so much respect for her, thank her for all she has given me and the many sacrifices through her life… Sacrifices that I would not even begin to realize without having been a Mom myself.

Today I also empathize with all of the women in pain that have such a strong desire to become a Mom… It is a painful day for so many… If you know someone who has struggled, please be extra caring to them today.

Today I celebrate my dear and amazing cousin Mia, for without her I could not celebrate this day… After five years and five miscarriages we have three amazing children… They are my greatest gift.

Today I celebrate so many amazing Moms in my life… My sister and my friends who are selfless, dedicated and amazing.

I hope you have an amazing day! To my Mom… Thank you for all you have given and given… Love you!

Happy Day! 🙂 Kris

Good Morning Sunshine!

Good Morning Sunshine, peeking over my shoulder…

You can come out and share your joy with us. There is something about you that lifts our spirits and brings us happiness. Do you realize the positive impact you have?

People smile more because of you, they yield to others and wait more patiently. Thank you for spreading your joy today!

The day is so amazing today and I really needed a day like today to create balance in my soul. Yesterday was the beginning of a winter journey we call H O C K E Y!

Hockey has been an amazing sport for our family, some of our closest friendships have developed through hockey. There is no denying the time commitment involved and constant running required to be a hockey parent. The benefits do outweigh the challenges, I think I needed to remind myself of that this morning as we delve into week one! Thank goodness for carpools!

A benefit is the creating time sitting in the arena!

I am a believer that we should do what we love! We do love hockey.

I hope your days are filled with sunshine and doing things that bring you joy! 🙂 Kris

Inspired To Create

I hope today finds you with joy in your heart as the seasons gently change from summer to fall.

Our weekend included a birthday celebration…

20110906-092437.jpg. Sawyer is now 12 years old and we celebrated with an ice-cream cake! Mmmmmmmm, Delish! I cannot believe that my kids are about to be 11, 12 & 13! Where has that time gone?

I had a creatively productive weekend as I pushed myself to meet my quota!

I have been humbled by your requests to purchase necklaces that I have shared with you… Thank you so much. I will list prices by my new jewelry that is for sale, just in case you are inspired to own one of my originals. 🙂 I am grateful.

The necklace pictured above has amazing color tones from the vintage flower, I used other similar toned vintage beads to create a unique and funky necklace. ($89)

This necklace embodies sweetness and presents a beautiful presence of ribbon & pearls. ($79)

Oh my word, this necklace is a new favorite… The joy of ribbons, pearls, unique vintage beads, elements and wire… Reminds me of lilies of the valley, one of my favorite flowers. ($98)

This bird in a nest necklace is a lighter version of my nest using two different gauges of wire for a more textured look. The birdie is made out of a vintage serving tray. Crystals are embedded in the nest…You Can Fly! ($68)

Thanks for stopping by! Many more photos of new creations to come! Have a fabulous day! Kris

May Your Wildest Dreams Come True

Today is the eve of the new year, two thousand and eleven.

Wow, it is hard to fathom that this is our 10th New Year with all three of our children.

I can tell I am getting older… I am thinking, how nice to stay home and hunker down and possibly be snuggled cozily in my bed by midnight. But then again, it might be fun to see the new year in with our kids. I know they could make it this year.

10, 11 and 12! Wow!

Our kids are our wildest dreams…

The journey to have children was a five year journey of pain, growth, extreme medical intervention, five miscarriages, education, financial challenges, family, friends, faith and ultimate happiness. It was a journey that took a village and all of the support of our family and friends, and we are so thankful.

In the past 12 years we have continued to have incredible medical challenges, but we have learned so much. We are so thankful for the health of our children and our family as we celebrate the end of 2010 on journey into 2011.

It feels like 2011 is going to be our best year ever… so much possibility.

I hope your wildest dreams come true! And 2011 is your best year ever!

Stuck in a Rut!

    I confess…

I am stuck in a Rut!

   I am not complaining.

I did it to myself…

      It’s only been a few years…

Well a little longer than that,

    I guess it’s more than 20!

I try buying other colors…

they stay in

    my closet!

I am happy when I wear black!

It makes me feel good

                          and thinner!

A new black shirt brings me joy!

And you should see my new jacket I got for Christmas from My family!

It is awesome!

It’s a Merrell

Jacket. It is warm but lightweight!

I love how it fits me!

And I love

  the color!!

It’s a great hockey jacket!

and my new boots that I got for myself for Tom’s Birthday…

I know, right! It sounds selfish, but I asked him

what he wanted for his birthday

                                                                             and he said

why don’t you get yourself a new pair of boots for my birthday.

Well, you don’t have to ask me twice! No sir!

They are

rated for 20 degrees below zero

by the US Ski Team!

They make my feet so happy!

I know, my husband rocks!

and I know, they are black too!!!

                   I do actually wear

                                            blue jeans!

I hope you didn’t just fall off your chair!

My most recent pair was from Cabi…

Okay, well when you post it,

they look

kind of black,

but they

really are dark,

dark blue.

I am okay

with blue jeans… Is that wrong somehow?

Our family knows I like black.

As a joke, I was opening a present from my sister and family.

I could tell it was clothing.

The following words just slipped out of my mouth!

It sounds kinda rude, but it was pretty hilarious!

Kya picked up on it right away.

It was repeated a few times over the course of Christmas Eve.

I might not be such a

do what I say, not what I do!

Truly I do!

I do have a tendancy to buy dark clothes for my kids though!

Well they just don’t show the dirt as much!

 In the end…

I hope you do what makes you happy, even if you are stuck in a rut!

Maybe you are meant to be there?

Where O’ Where Have I Been???

The last few days have spiralled away so quickly.  Tomorrow is the big day. I am starting to feel light-headed because I can’t seem to breathe deeply.  I can’t wait to tell you about it tomorrow. Last night I drafted a post telling you all about it. I am going to be gone all day tomorrow Holiday Shopping, so I thought I would draft a post telling you about my exciting news and then as soon as I find out the results, I can share it with you remotely! I LOVE technology!

So in the meantime, where O where have I been…

For the past two nights, I  inventoried, labeled, priced and described my jewelry on a spread sheet so Tom can deliver my inventory to the ‘Tis The Season Upscale Boutique in Chaska, MN.  (He is amazing, isn’t he?) The details are:

‘Tis The Season Holiday Boutique is open the first two weekends of December:
Friday, December 3rd 5pm – 8pm
Saturday, December 4th 9am – 5pm
Sunday, December 5th 11am – 5pm
Saturday, December 11th 9am – 5pm
Sunday, December 12th 11am – 5pm

We are conveniently located in Chaska at the Chaska Town Course
off of 212 and CR 41/Chestnut Blvd:
3000 Town Course Drive
Chaska, MN 55318
Here is a little Eye Candy!

This is a copper pendant that I created and etched myself. It was a lot of fun, but kind of piddly work for my taste… It was something I wanted to learn for a long time and now that I know, I think I will leave it up to the experts!

My Secret is Happiness necklace pictured above. I love the copper effect on the funky flower… I am in love with blues and coppers. Have you noticed that?

What??? More copper – N- Blue??? I know, huge surprise, right.

Well, make sure you check back tomorrow! Looking forward to spilling the beans!

Have an amazing day!
