Kris Lanae by Creative Co-op: 2012 Home Decor

I am excited to show you my line in the Creative Co-op Home Decor Catalog.

The Rare Form Angel is one of my favorites. It is amazing to see an idea translated from paper to real life.

This wire angel turned out amazing.

The Yes You Can Angel is always there for encouragement… reminding you that you can do it… Slight little pun on the can, since her skirt is created out of a can.

I wish you could touch and feel the “Off Your Chest Angel”…
The chest includes a little cabinet with hooks to hang your jewelry or other precious items.

And the Life Life Joyfully Angel…

This is one of my favorite sayings… Embrace life, and choose a life of happiness… Life Life Joyfully!

The Double Tier Tire Rack came out so cool. I would like multiples for my jewelry display and one in my bathroom for my personal use.

This sweet vintage grungy panel is the perfect height for a dresser or desk. I love it, right down to the industrial caster wheels. This is great for jewelry display or to use as a magnetic note board.

I created sweet little magnetic hooks to turn any metal into a jewelry display.

I have a few more display items that are still in production so they will hopefully make their debut with the next line.

Enjoy today! 🙂 Kris

Creative Co-op by Kris Lanae: Dallas

My mind is racing and I have a zillion ideas swirling around in my mind. My eyes opened at 4 am and my excitement and creative energy will not allow me to go back to sleep.

I decide to embrace the moment. Let’s put this creative energy to use!!! I can sleep later! Besides, I got 8 hours of sleep Thursday night which brings my average to five and a half hours, I can survive on that.

My jewelry line looks amazing! My photos are not the best, but I wanted to share some with you… Please forgive the quality!

The embellished jewelry line has an entire line dedicated to it.

This mannequin angel is perched at the entrance…

As you walk into the room, your eyes are drawn to the center table with a focal mirror, dress forms and one of my jewelry displays that I got to design.

The rack is a two tiered display of some old vintage bicycle tires I found… It looks awesome and is a terrific bracelet/necklace display.

The room has gorgeous patina’d grey panels that showcase each grouping of jewelry. Because it is a wholesale company, most of the jewelry is sold in collections of two to three.

I wish you could be here to see the beauty and simplicity of the display boards.

And here is another angel for you, my Yes You Can! Angel… I will get better photos from the catalog when I get home.

I had fun creating in my room last night and this morning. I depart today.

Have an amazing day! 🙂 Kris

Creative Co-op: Live Life Joyfully

I am so excited to be Living Life Joyfully today in Dallas, Texas.

I have so much to share with you.
I am
Super Duper
Excited to finally,
F I N A L L Y share my secret with you!!!

I have non-jewelry items that debuted with Creative Co-op too!! See the photo of my Live Life Joyfully Angel…

I will try to get better photos to share with you. Angels are near and dear to my heart and I will share the story with you soon.

It is so amazing to see the items live and in person! I am so happy with the quality and the beautiful patina and finishes of the elements.

The story of how this AH-MAZING friend propelled my journey forward is here.

Last night I had the most amazing dinner with Phil and Debbie Saviano. They graciously treated me to dinner Texas style at The Palomino. The gifts they gave me did not end there. I cannot let the moment pass without sharing a highlight of my Gifts from the Savianos:

Share with your whole heart: This amazing couple is committed to making the world a better place. It is clear to me that they do not let an opportunity pass to share with their whole hearts… Undivided attention, seizing the moment, kindness for others, or a chance to improve someone’s life with nothing to gain.

Give and you receive more. I can never thank Debbie enough for the difference she has made in my life. I was eager to share some jewelry I made especially for her. She instantly removed the beautiful jewelry she was wearing and replaced it with the jewelry I made. The sweet girl who was waiting on our table commented and Debbie glowingly shared her necklace with the her. I wish I could have captured the shine in her eyes… this friend of mine, graciously received and even more surprisingly… Without hesitation gave this sweet girl one of the best nights at her job, ever. I am so inspired. Her giving nature blessed our evening.

Listen with joy, commit to the moment. Often people in conversation listen to a conversation, focusing on how to continue the conversation, or add something pertinent about themselves or their life. I believe it is an instinct we have because we all like to talk about ourselves and some of us fear that we have nothing to contribute.

Phil and Debbie have the most incredible listening style. Phil and Debbie listen intently with their eyes, joyfully in the moment. I have so much to learn from them!

Honeymooners Prevail: Spending time with Debbie and Phil is a joyful experience. You can tell they are soul mates by the kindness and attention they share with each other, despite the fact that they have grown children and teenage grandchildren. Being in their presence reminds me of honeymooners and it is incredible too see their love cultivated and blooming.

Here is a photo of Debbie and I after dinner last night.

And a few more shots of the incredible building. The Courtyard…

And the beautiful entrance… Notice the Dove, Debbie spotted admiring the view.

More photos coming soon! Have an incredible day. 🙂 Kris

Subtly Gray Flower Necklace

It’s five am and time to start moving…

We are off to a softball tournament for my chick-a-doodle. I am excited for today because this year we have had to divide and conquer as Keegan & Kya play on the same nights. Tom is coaching Kya’s team, so I have been with Keegan. It is hard because you want to be in two places at one time.

This weekend should fun… As long as the rain holds out. They are guaranteed five games today and tomorrow.

My jewelry supply bag is packed to the brim and my deadline is looming. The week ahead is filled with excitement… Sawyer departs on Friday for a long, long 12 day boys choir tour to Washington, Oregon and Yellowstone. We are going to miss him, but I am so excited for him to have the opportunity.

I depart Wednesday for the Dallas Gift Show. I am incredibly excited to see my Creative Co-op Jewelry Line launch. I have approximately 2 weeks left on my deadline for my new line. The clock continues to tick tock…

I promise to share photos at Dallas! If I recall, I had sketchy service… But I will do what I can!

I also signed up for Lori Anderson’s 6th Bead Soup Blog Party

I had the pleasure of meeting Lori last week at the Bead & Button Show. She has a book launching soon that tells her story of the famous blog hop. She has hundreds of participants. So excited to participate.

Enjoy your Saturday… I hope it is amazing! 🙂 Kris

Kris Lanae by Creative Co-Op

I am happily writing to you today to share my excitement about a new licensing agreement. It’s Official! My line with Creative Co-op debuts in June!!!

The line includes vintage inspired jewelry with my funky wired twist on necklaces, bracelets, earrings and rings… some amazing jewelry displays and angels… I cannot wait for you to see the products!

Here is the story of how it happened:
When I was in Dallas for the Artist Mingle with Demdaco, I had the opportunity to wander around the show while waiting to meet up with my friend Debbie Saviano

I wandered past a showroom that I desperately wanted to walk into, but was hesitant to do so. I have bought dress forms and other items from this company in the past and I love their work. I wandered around the outside of their showroom craning my neck trying to see if they offered jewelry in their line. (You may not know this about me, but I am incredibly shy at times, to a fault… I am not the best person to sell myself.) I did not see any jewelry.
I then met up with my friend to go look at my Demdaco/Silvestri collection. As we were walking out, she asked me about my jewelry line with Demdaco/Silvestri and the seashells… I told her the story of how Angela from Demdaco/Silvestri found me at a show… She created a concept board with my jewelry. Later on she asked if I would create a line with sea shells. Throughout the year and a half, through processes and changes of the line, it was determined that the seashell line was the line that made it to production. As you know… debuted at the shows in January. It has been a joyful experience working with the fantastic staff at Demdaco.

In Dallas, my friend Debbie told me that she had someone I needed to meet that would be a perfect fit for my authentic jewelry style! Would you believe that she walked me right up to the Creative Co-op showroom and introduced me to the owner of the Creative Co-op. She told the owner, “This is my friend Kris and you really need to sell her jewelry.”
And yes, my jaw hit the floor! Flabbergasted is the only word I can find to describe my reaction! LOL
He took a look at the jewelry I was wearing and invited me to meet with his Vice President of Product Development. He also asked me if I had a portfolio? Ummm, no! (What was i thinking?) I use my iphone to take all of my photos, so I had quite a selection of jewelry photos on my phone. I quickly created an album to show them my jewelry.

It turns out that they are debuting a new line of jewelry in June (I remind you this was January). If you recall, I had 11 days to create approx. 98 pieces to meet their first deadline… It was quite a whirlwind. They are so creative and I am super excited for you to see my line with them. They worked so hard to sneak my line into their quick timeline!

I cannot tell you how grateful I am to my friend Debbie… She was swamped when I was there, but she (and her sweet husband) took the time to meet me. I am inspired by her bravery and her willingness to connect me with a company, despite the fact that she had nothing to gain from it. She went above and beyond by connecting me with a company that was such an amazing fit for me. I hope you have the opportunity to meet or work with Debbie!

Here is an image of my tag design with Creative Co-Op.

I am so excited to share this news with you and look forward to sharing photos and more details in the future!

Thanks so much for always being there for me, my friends, clients and faithful readers! I always appreciate you!

🙂 Kris

Are You LinkedIn?

Just curious, are you LinkedIn?

Well I was, but I wasn’t really… I had no idea the power of LinkedIn or the vast variety of information available in so many areas. I was missing out.

I was prompted to create a profile quite some time ago when I received an invitation to connect on LinkedIn. I halfheartedly created a profile and rarely went back, usually just to accept an invitation to connect.

In September I met Debbie Saviano at The Creative Connection. It was a joy to connect with her and she invited me to join a private group on Facebook. Last month when I went to the Dallas Gift Show, I had the amazing opportunity to reconnect with Debbie. She was overloaded with deadlines, however decided to find the time to meet up with me in Dallas and see my line of jewelry with Demdaco.

That week I had also started a new class by Kelly Rae Roberts and Beth Nichols called Hello Soul, Hello Business. I was only a few days into the class but the class is based on a new revolution in business and it allowed me to look at my business in a new light and openness and fly toward possibility.

I wanted you to know a little more about Debbie, because I was so intrigued by what she does. It is because of Debbie that I am LinkedIn, and fully committed. I am excited to introduce you to Debbie Saviano.

She is savvy, brilliant and believes in helping others!

Here is her beautiful website. You can connect with her on LinkedIn Here.

During our conversation in Dallas, I asked about what she does. She explained to me that many artistic people may not have the business savvy required to connect themselves to the business world via LinkedIn… Her goal is to encourage soulful artistic people to present a strong presence to allow themselves to open up to potential business connections.

I asked her a few questions about LinkedIn… and here are her replies:

How did you get started with Linked In?

My First Career was in Education as a School Principal of K-12th grades over the years. I Fell in Love with Social Media as it is another form of Connecting and Networking

After attending The Creative Connection Event in MN I met some Amazingly Talented Women and saw how effective LinkedIn could be for those Creative Souls.

Social Media is the Perfect Outreach and Extension of a Conference like the TCC. Women from across the Globe Attended the TCC and LinkedIn is the Business Platform that Continues the Conversation and Business Potential.

I would encourage you to join the world of LinkedIN! I hope you will connect with me… and Debbie. If you need help with your LinkedIN Profile, Debbie is in the business of helping you grow your business.
I totally believe the stars, sun, moon and universe were aligned that allowed us the opportunity to spend time together. Debbie is a dynamic individual and one of the things I love about her is her curiosity. She asked me some questions about my business that made me pause. Her curiosity and the new perspective on my business allowed me to realize that I wasn’t 100 percent following my authentic desire with my product line. After some discussion, Debbie grabs my arm and tells me there is someone “You NEED to meet.” We walk up to a showroom of a company I have long admired, we walk into the beautiful showroom, Debbie walks me up to the owner of the company and introduces me. She tells him, “Mr. W (sorry, can’t quite announce it yet), this is my friend Kris, she makes jewelry and you need to sell her jewelry!” I am quite certain I was blushing profusely, but Mr. W looked attentively at the jewelry I was wearing and asked if I could meet with his VP of Product Development in about an hour! I was flabbergasted!

The next thing he asked was if I had a portfolio with me of my work! Well Duh! I did not, UGH! But I did have a huge variety of photos on my phone… So I joyfully left with Debbie to go meet her sweet husband who was patiently waiting for her (They are so sweet together!) I frantically arranged my jewelry photos on my phone so they would not see the numerous family photos of my kids between jewelry! I am not sure I have ever been more nervous as I walked up to meet with them. Within a few moments, they were excitedly looking at my work and brainstorming products in addition to jewelry. I could not believe it. Their VP said to me… You have no idea how much jewelry I own and I have never seen anything like your jewelry! I am so humbled by the possibility.

I feel so much gratitude for Debbie for taking the time out of her incredibly busy life to connect with me… and for her curiosity and gumption to share my work … without expecting anything in return. She is a gift beyond measure. I am not sure how I could ever repay her…

Please say Hi to her for me!

I also encourage you to check out Hello Soul, Hello Business… just the first couple of days changed my entire perspective and future of my business!

Have a fantastic day!

🙂 Kris

Creating Connections: Demdaco-Silvestri Dallas

Another quite amazing day, filled to the brim with amazing moments…

My wheels are spinning…

My day started with my friend Mary and I getting some “fuel” at the funkiest little coffee shop in Dallas called the Mercantile.

Mary and I met in 10th grade and became fast friends… It was such a joy to share this experience with her.

We returned to the show again and I was so honored to reconnect with my friend Debbie, a Dallas native who amazingly took time out of her incredibly busy schedule to come to the market, see my product and meet with me. I will be telling you more about Debbie in an upcoming post, she has a gift of helping people and shared her gift with me today. More on that later, but Debbie... Thank you from the bottom of my heart for sharing your time and your gift with me today.

Her sweet husband Phil took a photo of us at the market.

My dear friend Mary, was laughingly stripped of her jewelry and made a mad dash back and forth to the hotel for me to grab some of my original jewelry line to display while the shipment that had been missing on a pallet was located!

We enjoyed more shopping time and fabulous connections and headed to lunch to Wild Salsa. I must tell you that I absolutely needed another course of the chicken chipotle tacos before heading back home.

I had to share a photo of another light fixture from Wild Salsa… Created with empty bottles. Love the fantastic use of unusual materials. We found out today that an episode of Dallas was filmed here, a tv show from the 80’s that will be premiering with the grandchildren of the cast.

We had about an hour of relaxation before heading back to the market for the Artist Mingle. The Artist Mingle was filled with fun, meeting buyers from a variety of states, hard working reps and a great staff. It was a joy to meet other artists as well! We met Lisa Frost for the first time, she resides in Wisconsin.

She had the cutest outfit on. Her line is a whimsical holiday line, her talent is amazing.

My line looked fantastic, the display was slightly different from Dallas.

We returned to our hotel and turned in early as our alarm was set for 2 am this morning for our 5:30 am flight out of Dallas. It seems somewhat insane, but i am excited to arrive home before my kids get home from school. Not sure that it is technically a red eye flight, but I assure you that I have red eyes. 🙂

Make the most of the beautiful day ahead of you! 🙂 Kris
