Introducing My Look Book!

I am very excited to share a project that I have been working on for weeks (pretty much all summer)!

One of the benefits with age is the ability to learn from your experiences and know yourself. Decisions become easier if you make deliberate decisions based on your skills and knowing what brings you joy.

I grew up with amazing entrepreneurial parents. They taught us so much about life, business and working toward your dreams. They were such an inspiration that all of their children own their own businesses.

My husband also has the entrepreneurial spirit (someday I’ll list all of the businesses we have been involved in). If you ever need a business idea, he is the guy to talk to!

There are many things that I have learned about myself since 2007 when I started selling my jewelry. Creating jewelry is my passion. I feel renewed when I create and my happiness flows when I create one of a kind designs. I knew that if I strayed too far away from the creating side of jewelry that my business would quickly become a job rather than my joy!

Art licensing is a perfect fit for fueling my joy! However the volume of jewelry I create on a daily basis needs an outlet. Most designers that sell wholesale recreate their designs and create new looks for every season.

I knew in my heart that reproducing my designs to sell wholesale would quickly stifle my joy. I have stayed true to my one of a kind dream and am excited to share that I believe I have found the perfect solution.

I have found a rep that is willing to carry my line even though I sell one of a kinds! We are shipping “Artist Choice” selections. Yippeeee! He covers a five state area and leaves next week for a five week road trip.

I am super excited! I have been building my inventory and preparing all summer. Yesterday I completed my look book for him to take on the road with him, along with some samples.

Here are a few pages! I published it on issuu, you can find the link here.

That’s a sampling. You can click on the link above to view the book.

Have a terrific day!

Lovin’ Grungy Crystals

Lovin’ Crystals…

Here is another necklace I created with the amazing soldered crystals from my Atlanta loot.

I wired this crystal with the intention of layering it.

Super happy with the results…

I love the added grunginess of the soldered crystals.

Today is the first day in quite some time that we have almost free… Hangin’ in PJ’s with my family.

Hope your day is FUNtastic!

Recap: Trunk Show at The Porch & Atelier

It was another fun day at The Porch & Atelier!

Teresa and Jeanne are super sweet and gracious.

The shop is decked out for the holidays…

Lots of trimmings…

We had a beautiful snowy dusting…

And truly enjoyed meeting new friends and connecting again with FUNtastic friends!!

I believe one of the greatest gifts of my trunk shows has been connecting with amazing people and having the joy to see people try my jewelry on. I create a fairly large volume of jewelry that I sell direct to boutiques and I rarely get to see people try my jewelry on. It is so much fun to see my work turn into art when someone tries it on! Thanks for an incredible day my sweet friends at The Porch & Atelier!

InSide Out?

This funky pair of earrings started with blue crystals wired with hammered copper diamond link and dangles on a cool cooper hoop earring. So much fun to wear!

Since I have been working from home full time, often in my pj’s, I have been catching up on mounds of laundry. I realized I have been spending ALOT of time turning my kids clothing right side out. It seems like such a small thing and I really do not enjoy nagging so rather than nag, I decided to just fold their cloths inside out. I was kind of prepared for some questions/feedback/complaints.

Today marks two weeks, can you believe that I have not had one single comment from my children? I am kind of amazed! Not one of them has started the day with an inside out shirt either.

Something that irked me has really turned into a funny situation! Do you have any idea how much time it saves me? In four loads, only three of their items were right side out.

Now I need to determine my next plan of action… Inside out does not bother them one bit! It sure saves time, but maybe I need to give a “how to remove your clothing and keep it right side out lesson!” Only my silly kids would not be bothered by stacks of inside out clothing! {they crack me up!}

I listed a scaled down version of yesterday’s trio of necklaces in my Etsy shop here.

Hope you enjoy your day!

Grandmother, Daughter, Granddaughter Necklaces

I had the joy of creating the coolest necklace set this week inspired by a necklace posted on my blog a couple weeks ago.

A new client referred by a friend (Thank You Melissa!). They shared the coolest story about how they used to see each other only in the summer and how they were penpals as kids. As life happens, they lost touch. A few years ago they reconnected and have been best friends with so many similarities in their lives. It gave me chills as I heard their sweet story!

Melissa was on the phone with her friend and her friend asked what Melissa gave her Mother for Christmas. Melissa gave her friend a glowing referral of my jewelry and introduced us (I am still blushing!) and grateful!

After she browsed my blog and found the moon necklace which was very fitting. Since the original necklace was sold, we decided I would design a necklace for her Mother-in-Law and matching necklaces for her two sweet daughters.

They were so much fun to make!

The fun thing about the necklaces is that the charms are interchangeable, can be worn alone and work well layered.

After sharing initial photos, Mom decided that she should have her own set! What a great holiday gift idea! It is so much fun to be a part of a heartfelt family gift!!

I posted an invitation to my Holiday Open House on Facebook today. I created an event & I hope I didn’t miss anyone! We would love you to join us next Friday! Feel free to invite/bring your friends!

Have a FUNtastic day!

Mustard, Moon & Skeletons

My the days have been flying by!

Here is a sweet little necklace I created the other day… I love this necklace for layering on a long chain.

We have Keegan’s one year check up today, it is amazing to realize that it has almost been a year since his last surgery.

{wow, I am back with you, I never had the opportunity to finish my blog post yesterday!}

So we checked in at the Dr. Office, he had multiple X-rays & we were waiting between doctors in the exam room. Keegan is so much like his Dad, he has to get up and explore, peek in the drawers, cupboards, etc. after 19 years with his father, I have started to relax about it.

Today may have been THE FUNNIEST find of them all!

Keegan got up and opened up the door in the exam table, he closed it and sat down quickly. I got a quick peek as he opened it, but I made him open it again so I could show you!

I was truly Laughing Out Loud!!

Take a peek:

Can you see the skeleton? Pretty funny stuff! Wonder how many other kids opened up that door! {It makes sense because we see bone doctors} I am still giggling!

Remember just a few days ago when I was Thankful for no impending surgeries? Well, the plate they put in his knee last year has done a fantastic job of straightening his leg that it will need to come out. So Today I am Thankful for the plate doing its job and we will work through the news of another surgery on the horizon. I am also grateful and thankful that the news of another surgery did not devastate him… So grateful!

Last night after we returned home, our cat Putter got my heart racing by doing a balancing act on our balcony railing… It makes me so nervous when he does that!

It was kind of an exhausting day yesterday. Starting the day with a fresh perspective and the joy and excitement of a new day.

What a beautiful sunrise greeting us this morning, such beauty surrounds us each and every day!

Who is that peeking in our opposite window this morning? Why that is Mr. Moon!

And finally some mustard earrings I created for a friend as a custom order in Mustard. I was hesitant about the colors {they show orange in the photos} so I made two pairs for her to choose her favorite.

I hope you have a day filled with beauty and joy!

Creative Inspiration

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of creating a custom design for a friend of mine who has been an incredible supporter of my jewelry. It is always fun to design a unique necklace for her, often customized specifically for a gift.

I created the design on my computer. She suggested a few words and verse and I was able to incorporate everything including the subtle verse on the bottom of the pendant. I also added the separate funky little dangly cross that can be worn with the pendant or layered separately.

It is so satisfying to create a touching design that has such meaning. I love my job!

(I’ll have you know that yesterday I actually wore real clothing rather than pajamas! Well, I had to because I needed supplies!)

I had an amazing day being creative in such a different way! I have been designing specific items in my head, but never had the time or energy to figure out how to bring those designs to life. Yesterday, I got brave with my supplies and just went for it! It was a pretty big high to see this work come together! I wish I could show you, but I can’t put it online yet. Soon, hopefully soon!

May today be filled with creative inspiration! ๐Ÿ™‚ Kris
