Sunshiny Day & a New Bangle

I have been a little worker bee lately… And yes I have been creating in my PJ’s! Gosh, they are just so comfy!

I created this bangle yesterday. I think I like it. Still need to experiment a little.

Our current temp is 54 degrees!! Finally spring shows her sunshiny smile on us!!

Heart. Full.

Today I have a full heart. I am so grateful for so many positives:

Keegan is making an incredible recovery, the last week has found me awestruck. He ditched the crutches and all pain meds by Tuesday, removed all of the stitches himself by Wednesday and yesterday went the full day without both boots. Seriously in awe of this kid. Truly grateful for no surgeries in the horizon!

We are on our way to the last volleyball tourney of the season. It has been such a rewarding experience.

Sharing Joy

Sometimes I believe we need to create our own joy and I have to say it sure can be fun!

I found the coolest mica cuttings in Tucson and I was creating with some resin projects the other day and decided to play! This is the first one I made into a necklace and I am happy with the result.

I created about six inspirational message pendants with vintage book paper. I am a glitter girl, so I had to add a little sparkle. The only thing I would change would be to protect the ink a little better on the vintage paper. But overall, I am happy with the results.

Well, my spring fever has been put on the back burner with freezing rain causing a late start for school this morning. My kids slept the entire two hours, it amazed me! What a joyful start to the day!

Flying By…

Wow, the time is flying by… I must admit, this week must have been on fast forward.

Time seems to pass much more quickly when we are busy! This week was jam packed.

Last night we enjoyed the 6th & 7th grade school band & choir concerts. As Sawyer was waiting in the hall, he was asked by the Athletic Director to sing the National Anthem for the Varsity Basketball game. It worked out perfectly between concerts.

Today the girls have their fourth game of district playoffs. They are playing for second seed for Regional Playoffs and must win tonight and Sunday to advance. Saturday is their home volleyball tournament so it should be a fun weekend ahead.

I bought this big chunky bird charm at the Tucson Gem Show. I hand stamped the word fly on it and wired it up. I love the chunkiness of the bird.

And the Games Continue

With valiant effort the girls were tied two ~ two in the third period. Two minutes before the end of the game our team gets a crippling penalty. With one minute remaining in the game, Kya finds herself one on two and is forced to make choice… She committed and was burned by the other player with a game ending score on us. The game ends 2-3 and we find our path on the lower bracket battling for second seed to Regional playoffs.

The girls should be proud for how they played. I believe they played this team 5 times this season and lost each game. The scores continued to get closer and they thought they had them this time.

Life is challenging that way. We are on our way to resume the battle, our third game of the weekend and three more games to win to move on to regionals! One more loss and our season is over.

Frosty Days

The beauty is astounding!

This is a necklace I made myself with my Grandparents skeleton keys and some other vintage love I adore. This is one that will remain in my collection!

We are on our way to game two of district playoffs. Last night the girls won 5-0 in an incredibly exciting game. Little Miss Chickadoodle scored the second goal of the game. Today is a formidable opponent, they have not lost a district game all season. We are hoping the underdogs shine today!

Tucson Gem Show: The First Four Hours

I am truly enjoying the beautiful weather in Tucson (I am sorry fellow cold weather friends for rubbing it in). In the summer we take for granted walking outside without a coat on, the sunshine as it sends warm hugs our way and the heavenly warmth that surrounds us.

The weather in Tucson warms your soul. Yesterday we spent four hours shopping two different wholesale shows. We were power shopping!

You are not allowed to take photos in the tents, but as my friend Patti had shared with me, we had no idea they could make tents that huge!

As I am laying in bed right now an owl started hoot-ing outside my window. The sound is so cool! Love it!

I have a few more items that are sealed up in bags that I didn’t unpack that I will have to show later. My goal was to hold out for unique items or fantastic prices. I found some of both.

It is time to wake this morning and get rolling out of bed for a marathon shopping day! I am so excited!

We were so busy shopping that we forgot to take photos of us as a group yesterday! I hope my friend Patti feels better today, she caught a doozy of a cold and has been suffering! She has been a trooper though.

Cheers to a better day!

Yesterday was the last day of Thanksgiving Vacation for our kids… It was a laid back day, a little hockey, a little play practice, chores, homework… Pretty low key. I enjoyed creating and Tom worked on his continuing education.

A couple bumps in my day turned into great lessons!
Always shut your curling iron off if you walk away… My brand new bottle of moisturizer knocked onto my curling iron, by the time I came back to it, it had melted and puddled all over the counter. {a fire hazard for certain}

I was able to save about half the bottle and my curling iron! Lol

Last night after 10pm I was getting sleepy… My eyes were dry so in the dark I got up and got my drops out of my purse… I quietly laid back in bed and put the first soothing drop in, and to my shock and surprise, it burned like crazy! I quickly rinsed my eye and upon closer inspection…

I mistakenly grabbed a bottle of eyeglass lens cleaner! Wowzers, that woke me up! The good news is that eyeball should be squeaky clean!

Other than the bright green bottle color, they look almost identical. I forgot I had the cleaner in my purse! Lesson #2, Always, Always, Always read the bottle!

My first week working from home in my pj’s is flying by! It is Wednesday and I have accomplished a lot! I signed up for a couple of online classes to learn new techniques and skills. I have created some new jewelry for my line, played around with some new ideas, worked on finishing some remaining custom orders and started developing some ideas for my business!

The only thing awkward was late in the afternoon yesterday when a couple of hockey Dad’s stopped by and I was still in my pj’s (if you must know, my pj’s are black sweats, so it wasn’t revealing or anything!!) Lol!

Sawyer has been discovering hearts randomly as we go though our days… It is such a joy for me to see him discover beauty and fun in the world.

This one might be a little harder to see, Sawyer was unpacking one of my orders and he discovered a heart of chain in a bag. Love the photo if his hands carefully holding it.

And this morning, he called me in to see that his last bite of cereal was shaped like a heart. Super sweet.

Dangling Key Earrings

I made this pair of earrings this morning for an upcoming hop…

I am quite amazed that I slept until 8 am this morning. I cannot remember the last time I slept in. Even when i can sleep in, I wake up between 5:30 & 6… Feels so good! The boys got an amazing amount of sleep too. Sawyer crashed at 6pm last night and got 14 hours of sleep! And Keegan got more than 11! It is nice to have everyone rested!

We are off and running again! More earrings coming soon!

I am very excited about my upcoming trunk show next Saturday in Buffalo, MN. Hope you can join us!

Feeling Blessed

Gosh… One of the greatest compliments of a jewelry designer is that people want to wear your jewelry. I must say that I feel so blessed by your compliments! Thank you to all who participated in my sale yesterday! It was so much fun! You make my heart sing!!!

It’s pretty rare that I make myself a necklace… I tend to wear the same couple of designs for months, switching it up occasionally, kind of odd for a jewelry junkie.

This morning we woke to a beautiful snowfall… My kids are so excited, I have to nudge them to keep moving… They just want to watch the snow fall.
